Bright Club - May 7 2014 - part of Oxford Brookes' OutBurst Festival!

Lucy Rogers - Bright Club Oxford, Nov 2013

The 'Best of Brookes' Bright Club will take place at Pegasus Theatre on Weds 7 May 2014, as part of Oxford Brookes University's annual OutBurst Festival, bringing great ideas, activities, and entertainment right to the doorstep of the Oxford public.

One of these events will be Bright Club, featuring researchers from Oxford Brookes University alongside professional comedians.

With less than 2 weeks to go until Oxford's third Bright Club, here is the latest on the amazing line-up!

Compéred by Iszi Lawrence, comedian, illustrator and amateur historian, host of The Z List Dead List, and voice of the Skeptics Guide to the Universe:-

Delicious, meticulous and elegant ...  unconventionally sassy
See her before she hits the big time
Equal measures silly and provocative ... a deeply affable and engaging stage presence ... energetic, endearing, thoughtful and highly recommended, particularly for those on the lookout for exciting new talent ... Covers refreshing new ground or presents a fresh slant on stand-up staples
Broadway Baby****

Headlined by Tom Toal, or T-Squared - comedian, writer and actor.

"Funny and touching. Winning over his audience with charm, genuine depth of feeling, and free tiny yoghurts, Toal painted an impressive, and at times, disturbing picture of a man on the edge.... humour from the heart" Three Weeks

"Star of the first half was undoubtedly the charmingly ironic Tom Toal. T-Squared, as he calls himself in one of several supposedly hip third-person nicknames, has a quirky outlook and the gags to match ... The T-Dog is certainly one of the most promising of today’s emerging comics." - Steve Bennett, Chortle.

Featuring researchers including:-

Lucy Rogers on bubbles, bubbles, toil and trouble(s)

Ross Jordan asks 'are Entrepreneurs born or made' or would Ian Beale have been more successful with a beard

Film Studies lecturer Lindsay Steenberg asks why bad movies can be so good....

Live music researcher Emma Webster on the curious phenomenon of the encore
